Strengthen yourself in the Lord

But David found strength in the Lord his God. 1 Samuel 30v6

David has just returned home with his mighty men and found his hometown has been burned to the ground and the women and children all taken captive. He's at his lowest point, his men are talking about stoning him. He has lost everything. What does he do? It says David found strength in the Lord is his God. When we are facing tough situations or feeling low, we need to follow David's example. We need to strengthen ourselves in the Lord our God. We need to turn to him. We need to remember his faithfulness to us. We need to rely on his strength to carry us through.

What happened? David sought the Lord and God said to go after them and promises that he will recover everything that was taken from him. Sure enough, when David caught up with the raiders, he got back everything that was taken it says in verse 19, "Nothing was missing: small or great, son or daughter, nor anything else that had been taken". Hold on to this promise in the difficult times.
